Sustainable Fashion, Ethical Fashion and Conscious Fashion

When we founded Happee, we wanted to make a more conscious fashion, with fair wages, a fashion that showed the people behind the products, and above all, a fashion that would make the world a better place and help those who need it. So we started researching existing cases and brands, and discovered a new and delicious category of fashion: ethical fashion, conscious, sustainable.

DEFINITIONS

Sustainable fashion is one that aims to reduce the environmental impacts of its production process, through the use of organic fibers, upcycling, natural dyes, use of discarded fabrics, less polluting raw materials, etc.

Ethical fashion focuses on human rights (or animals, in the case of vegan and cruelty-free products). Donating profits to charity, employing people in a situation of vulnerability, fair trade, hand-made, fair wages, transparency with policies and production processes - all these are good examples of issues addressed by ethical fashion.

Finally, in conscious fashion, there is a concern of the brand and the consumers with what one produces, and dresses. The origin of products, durability, issues such as buying at thrift stores, perpetuating the life cycle of products, slow fashion, the stories of the people who make it, buying items made from durable materials are some concerns regarding fashion conscious.

At Happee we approach all three, with an emphasis on ethical issues, through our social work, fair pay, hand-made items, etc. But we also love slow fashion, create durable items with quality raw materials, and strive to improve sustainability using organic cotton in our scarves. *The Brazilian sizes are already converted in the Portuguese version of the website.

*Our ballerinas fit the foot comfortably. Mojaris, however, are a type of shoe which are naturally a little tighter, as they adjust to the foot upon wearing.

*This chart may vary a little from other charts, as there is no international standard for shoe sizes.

*In case you still have any doubts regarding your size, send us an email at info@iamhappee.com, we will revert back ASAP. :)
