7 dreams project at Rays NGO

Today we present our new project at our partner NGO: 7 Dreams

Dreams: how often do we hear from someone “I am doing what I dreamt of in my childhood”, or  saying “I did what I wanted to do from the time I started to understand things.” There is a high chance that you might be thinking that this question is applicable to you as well right now.

Well, the point is not how many people think about this, but how many actually do their actions based on what they dreamt of? All the great leaders, popular artists or successful businessmen have one thing in common: they chased their dreams all their lives, so whenever they fulfilled it, they inspired not only those who knew them, but further generations as well.

In today’s world, if you don’t really care about your dreams, you end up living someone’s else dream or helping them build theirs. And probably the reason behind this is because generally society leads us into believing that safer paths and easy living will make us live happier. We are often told by our parents to do things which are common, which limits the amount of choices we have.

We, the Happee team, think differently for some really amazing friends who are really young, younger than what you would expect. We are trying to help these kids to think very sincerely about their dreams and their aspirations with some really amazing activities which are pretty easy to conduct or to explain, but which have beautiful outcomes for our little friends.

The reason behind calling this program as “7 Dreams” is because we think these kids are too young to understand the importance of their dreams, so it will be great to think about several dreams, so that in the future, when they grow up , they are able to take any of these dreams as their life aspiration. On a funny note, we find 7 is generally a lucky number for most of the kids, so it will be interesting for them to have this associated .

We are going to conduct various activities in coming weeks. Some of our friends from different countries ,a.k.a Happee team ,who came for doing volunteer work through AIESEC, are helping us to conduct these activities.

The first activity is “Movie Day”.

It’s about showing these kids an inspirational movie with which they can relate and feel inspired about their lives and their dreams. We choseIqbal , a Hindi Bollywood movie which talks about boy who is deaf and mute, but still has really big dreams about playing cricket as a sport for his country, and how he struggles but finally achieves his dreams purely because of his hard work and dedication. The purpose behind this activity is to tell them about how it is difficult to follow your dreams, your passion and how many struggles you might face in doing so. But in the end, if you have courage and passion, nothing can defeat you.

Also, no matter how, if you really care about your own dreams, someway or the other , you will achieve them.
We, the Happee team, believe in the famous quote,

quote by Paulo Coelho

Stay tuned for our the upcoming activities in the following weeks!

*This chart may vary a little from other charts, as there is no international standard for shoe sizes.
